The MKV R32 is renown as one of VWs best drivers cars to date. However, with the model approaching 20 years of age, the aftermarket support for the R32 has endured some attrition. As the platform becomes more niche, many manufacturers no longer see the value in supporting such a small number of VIO (vehicles in operation).
At RadProdukt, the aim is to create a solution at an OEM level - something that is built with the same robustness as the MKV itself. A friend - Mike Panniccia - needed a permanent and attractive solution for his broken and NLA Forge Motorsport plastic intake duct.
After prototypes to verify and adjust fitment, Mike chose to have the final design printed out of AluSi10Mg. This stiff and extremely lightweight alloy blows the plastic duct out of the water, and features a more gently curved inlet than the original sheet metal duct from Forge. Mike was aware of the sheer number of cars with this problem, so we've decided to make this part available to everyone.
Note: This duct is shipped in raw glass-blasted finish. While the duct can be run as-is, sanding and polishing with aluminum polish and a drill/ polisher will result in the best finish. We would not reccomend using a steel wire wheel, as steel deposits will rust. Made from AluSi10Mg.
